Sew Two Half Rectangle Triangles At Once
Witches hats are great!! Love the idea of using them in garland. We don't celebrate Halloween here, no kids in my neighborhood. Tropical storm Debbie really walloped Sarasota pretty bad. One coworker of mine pretty much lost everything. The flood water got to the roof of his car. So very sad for these people. Nobody was prepared for this much rain. 😭 Take care Robin
I don’t decorate very much for Halloween. 🎃 I probably will do a little this year though now that I’m close to my grandbabies! 🧡🖤🩶💜💛 I tend to decorate more for Fall in general. Those witch hats are so cute! I like the Halloween Gnome too! Very cute! My oldest Daughter LOVES Halloween! 👻 She goes all out for decorating! It’s her 2nd favorite holiday next to Christmas. 🎄 Thanks for sharing your wonderful projects with us!
I'm watching while I iron emergency fabric from the dryer to get a baby quilt done by Sunday morning 😮! A friend of my son's baby shower. I got late notice but wanted to send something along 😅
I put a piece of parchment paper over my ironing board before fusing . Saves making messes.
Excellent tip. Thanks for sharing.
I have enjoyed celebrating Halloween since I was young. At first, mom made our costumes. However we were encouraged to make our own costumes. It was a great introduction to sewing as fun took priority over perfect. 😀 I continued making costumes and dressing up for Halloween as an adult. So, in addition to a tote for Halloween decorations, I have a few totes of costumes and accessories (including a handmade mandrake root and wand to go with the Professor Pomona Sprout robe and hat that I made). 😉 I have also made Halloween pillow covers and table runners. This year I will probably reuse a previous costume (maybe Mad Madam Mim) and existing decorations since I am still unpacking, organizing, and downsizing. (Goal is to empty a bay of the garage so that I can park my car inside before winter.)
Robin Did you see the Hey Boo panel? On sunday i cut the sewin interfacing into 10" strips. 172 strips
I use the 3M hooks with the dowel and it works well. Happy Wednesday!
Thanks for sharing!
I don't do anything for the holidays. All the kids are grown, and it's rare anyone trick or treats is So Cal anyway. So there isn't really a reason to bother. I like those hats, but they DO look like a fussy thing to make.
Fussy is not my favorite but I seem to be drawn to the fussier projects 🤣 we haven’t had trick or treaters in over 25 years. 🎃👻
Cute projects. The hats look great. I would not sew the two hats together but make them up separately.😍
Thanks! Happy to hear I’m on the right track with not putting them together when they’re this small. 🎃🧙
I don’t like Halloween decorations. I do like the fall decorations.
Me too. I love the cute bit scary Halloween decorations. I like being able to put pumpkins out in early October for Halloween and leave them out throughout November. Any excuse to have fun pumpkin projects out is perfect for me. 🎃🎃🎃
Happy Wednesday! Thank you for more of your sharing! You’re awesome🫶
You are so welcome! Thank you so much.
Love all of your Halloween sews. The witches hats are a great idea. I like making Halloween ornaments and hanging them from a branch I find in the park stuck in a vase or bottle. Painting the branch black is a good idea thank you💕
Can't wait to decorate for Halloween!
I like the layout of your pumpkins. I still need to watch your last 'live'. I thought it was a good idea to stuff the hat cone then sew a circle to finish off - just wondering if the stuffing is good for shipping? Love the witch - thought you'd cut out all the pieces at first haha, but possible of course if you want to make more. The b&w stripes is perfect for the binding. No halloween decor for me but I have a small collection of orange fabrics; hoping to finally make a pumpkin 🎃fingers crossed 😆
I have never decorated for Halloween, but one of my daughters loves Halloween.. That witch gnome is so cute. I agree about the black and white binding. Oh, those hats are adorable...
I decorate for Halloween still. I dont go all out like I used to though. Cute witch hats! I used to make witches hats out of felt then painted faces on the mini pumpkins added green hair and put the hats on them and sold them
Thanks!
I don't celebrate Halloween here. I hope everyone is staying safe.😊
🎃🎃🎃
I love making things for Halloween 😊😊, we don't decorate or do it big like we did as kids but still fun to make mug rugs for it. 😊😊 Love the hats, just stuff the top of hat and put bottom on them. 😊😊 Like the idea of color, black, color, black as combination for banners. 😊😊

Thank You for the video I learned something from you today now I know what to do with the charm packs I have. Good video and Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you!
Could you have put binding around the seams it would help it stand up a little better
Yes you can do that but not everyone likes to add the binding to seams. It’s been a bit since I made the video so I don’t remember what I mentioned but you can always use a firm interfacing or the foam that people use for their tote bags when they like them to stand up.
You have produced one of the best sewing tutorials I have watched. Good job!
Wow, thank you! Much appreciated.
@@rsislandcrafts you are most welcome.
Thank you for this simple, understandable video. The starch and cutting a diagonal in the end piece is a game changer for me. ❤
Glad it was helpful!
I look forward to school starting again. Less traffic during school hours. Im a bit late watching this but i tend to save you as a relaxing time. You have made lot of progress this week. Hugs❤
So when you send the postcard to the person it has to be put in the plastic bag and if so where do you buy the bags? Thanks
I buy the clear envelopes on Amazon but others have found them at hobby lobby. You can mail them in a manilla envelope or I’ve also found white envelopes that fit the size postcards I make on Amazon. Some people have mailed their postcards without an envelope but I do not recommend that. It’s easy for them to be damaged by the sorting machines or just from going through the usps system and being delivered. I have a fabric postcard playlist with more information about making postcards and mailing them. Thanks for watching.

Glad you enjoyed it. You’re very welcome
Hey, Robin...I'm going to use your scrappy style for my niece's stand mixer! I think it would be so cute! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea!!
Great idea & fun video! Just a thought: instead of quilting on card stock, would freezer paper, print paper or parchment work?
Always worth a try. I like the idea of using printer paper. As long as once it’s on the actual card It isn’t floppy. I haven’t tried anything different. I’ve tweaked the scrappy fabric bit over the years but I haven’t tried changing anything else. If you try It I’d love to hear how It worked for you.
A really nice online quilt shop to get fabric is Plain Janes Quilt Co. I’ve ordered several times and she’s really fast with mailing my orders. I really like that I can buy fat quarters. Her shipping charges are much less expensive, too. 💛
Thanks for sharing. I’m going to write that down. I like buying fat quarters and It can be hard to do that online.
@@rsislandcrafts exactly! That’s why I like them ☺️
Rewatching your older videos, I watched the whole playlist while I am sewing 😅.
🦩
Sorry about the weird orientation. RUclips changed where we set our live orientation but with a little research I’ve figure It out and we should be back to normal on the next live. Thank you for your patience.
It’s all good Robin! No worries!
Thanks I appreciate It.
Great video and project. You did a great job.
Thank you so much
Missed the live😮, but got you on replay 😊. Love all those oranges 🧡. I like the gray or purple 💜 background 😊. You're making me want to start a Halloween wall hanging with all these oranges🧡. I really liked that Spooky one you made. Whichever way you want to finish, I'm good with it. I didn't get any ads during the replay at all. I don't mind ads, but when the ads are longer than the video, your watching is kinda stupid. U-tube is so funky with what you guys have to do. I made fried drumsticks for supper. Mom wanted fried green tomatoes, so I changed it up a bit cause they always take so long to cook. I took some sliced onion, sliced up some sweet banana peppers (had on hand from farmers market), and cubed up the green tomatoes. Tasted as good as fried tomatoes without all the flour, time, and grease. 😊😂😊 I will definitely do them that way again. 😊😊 I got 1 ad at end of the replay just before you said goodbye 😅. Have a great Sunday, and see you during the week. 😊😊
Nice work. I need to make one of these.
It was a fun project.
So enjoyed your video today. Thank you for talking about your family and your husband. My husband died in 2018. I live by myself and quilting and sewing keeps me going. I love anything pumpkin. 🎃🎃🎃 Dona in Oregon
I enjoyed this video. I had to watch the rerun because I was interrupted on the live.
Thank you for coming back and finishing with the replay. How dare they interrupt 🤣🤣🤣
I find it very interesting where everyone is.
Me too.
You can add an extra tick mark on Arizona! We made it back! Just got back about 2 weeks ago! 🌵 😊
Welcome back!!
Hello all🎉
Hello 😊
Hi Robin! 👋🏻
👋🏻
Thanks Robin.
You’re welcome. I had fun with everyone today.
Thanks so much! Made some awesome studded cuffs with this!
Fantastic!
I’m gonna try this sometimes I ladder stitch but this looks so much easier
I struggle too much with the ladder stitch. Good luck!
❤❤❤
🦩
Baby templates are great ideas for my mug rugs 😊 You made some good choices😊😊 Enjoy your weekend. 😊😊
Thank you! You too!
The large temples could be used as a mug rug. Looks like fun!!
Large templates, not temples. Spell check changes things.
Darn malfunctioning spell check 🤣
I’m hoping to find time and creativity to make a few things soon.
Love all the items you bought. I have that Heat'n'Bond, use it for my alphabet. Love the fabrics and especially the templates. Did you mention the backing comes off & then it's see-through? So many things you can use them for. Bet you have a busy week ahead of you 🤩
Yes, the paper on the templates come off. It’s there to protect the writings etc.
I use the Lori Holt binders for the templates and printed PDF's. I have 3 of the binders.
Those are nice binders too. I added the MSQC binder to my wishlist. Definitely need to keep the templates organized.
